Drain codes (E24, 5C, OE, F11) are the ones you can often clear yourself by cleaning the filter and checking the hose. Leak codes (E15, LC, AE) are different. Usually food and grease trapped in the filter, sump or door seal, or dirty sink water running back in because the drain hose has no high loop. Clean the filter, run a dishwasher cleaner on a hot cycle, and if the smell returns, have the drain hose checked.

Check the tap under the sink is open, the socket is switched on and the filter is clean. If it still won’t run, it may never have been installed properly or the pump may have seized from sitting unused. We can diagnose it and give you a written report for your landlord.
